The choice and definition of the environments, as well as materials and furnishings, is closely linked to the educational projects promoted during the year by the Notre Dame of Compassion Institute in Naples.
In fact, Loris Malaguzzi defined the environment as the "third educator" after the family and the teachers.
A rich, stimulating and lively environment, which starts from a space that indistinctly welcomes, stimulates and opens up to the many opportunities offered by the school.
It is on the basis of this philosophy that the Neapolitan school has designed its own environments.
The structure consists of a large building of 2200 square metres on two levels with bright, cool and spacious rooms. The entrance is reminiscent of a square where it is possible to "meet" people, languages, lights and sounds.
In addition to the administrative offices, overlooking the square, there are the nursery sections, the large kitchen, the canteen and the multifunctional room, an ideal place for psychomotor activities, dramatisation, light games and small and large group activities.
On the upper floor, on the other hand, there are two separate rooms, the kindergarten, made up of three sections homogeneous in age, and the primary school; both use a large Atelier space and a level terrace equipped for outdoor games.
The building also has a large garden that houses the vegetable garden and a parking lot.
